The overworld is fun to explore if you ignore the gates at every city that ruin the memorable handful of seamless route transitions the GBA versions had. Don't use Mega Evolution to get +100 BST every battle against NPC's. Dewford Cave is a hole in the wall, the desert tower doesn't appear, and The Safari Zone is basically just another route too and isn't memorable at all this time, but those can be overlooked for the rest of the game.
Everything I just said is invalidated because there is no Battle Frontier, no RSE sounds, and Brawly's pokemon are 1 level lower. If you bought it used return it immediately. If you downloaded it delete it from your device and download history. These are the worst games in the franchise so you shouldn't play the story because there is no battle facilities with exclusive modes after the story.
