The real world is infinitely more unnerving than a presented utopia, especially since that presented utopia goes out of its way to show how anything not acting in step with the world around it is unnatural or wrong.
Nothing in Pokémon bothers me, because ultimately it's a kiddy series where the good guys win out and 10 year olds can best adults.
