He was an immortal in heaven and made an honest mistake that wasn't even really his fault and was cursed to live as a pig man. All he did since then was eat alot, work really hard, got a wife and then became a monk when asked too.
What part of that is dark? the only "dark" part about him was that he was transformed into a pig monster and the series is fucking called pocket monsters so i really don't think thats enough for a dark type.
