I like Animal Crossing, but it doesn’t have anything like this. What kind of events do you mean?

maybe a rock slide causes boulders to block some paths, or windy storms fuck up the farms. different pokemon would be better or worse at different things. like, some fighting types to punch away rocks.
or, either drought or flooding, different pokemon could offer different kinds of solutions which would change how your village looks

i think this is a really fun idea, i love seeing new pokemon spinoff ideas. im kinda sad spinoffs come out so infrequently they were some of the most fun things in the franchise but if this were to come out now it would likely be a mobile game.

i think it would also be a cool idea if you could go on expeditions with the pokemon you have to expand your village.

I don't remember which one it was, but there was a game where they still have the personality test, but at the end you can just pick for yourself if the one that the quiz produces isn't a snug fit for you.
this is especially true since the nature of /Crossing/ games is for a wide variety of animals/mons, so I'd want AT LEAST 60 evolutionary lines to choose from, & having a quiz to determine that many possibilities is outright ridiculous.

yeah, you're getting the idea.
you could go on expeditions for supplies, especially in response to any calamities that threaten your village, but unless there's a calamity these fruitful expeditions would be time-locked, meaning you can only venture out every (XYZ-Amount of time). this would encourage players to really stay working around the village instead of neglecting it for your own greed or lust for loot. it would also prevent it from getting too old too fast.

They would be cute chibis in the same artstyle as animal crossing, complete with that crafty patchwork or claymation texture to make it appeal to kiddies, but the PokéMon themselves wouldn't be anthros unless they always were, such as the Kirlia line or tyrogue line.

Because you need to be able to UNDERSTAND what the pokemon are saying, & you would have to see each other as equals, but humans see themselves as masters to pets. It wouldn't be the same if you were human.
Also, making YOU a pokemon means ypu get to pitch in & help out too, instead of point fingers & shout commands from the sidelines.

Froslass, Seviper, Mismagius, & Politoed would be must haves for my camp.

I think the mountain would have pretty aesthetic, winter would look nice for it too. Maybe the Seviper villager would have to move out or stay indoors all winter since it'd be too cold for him.

I'm assuming this game would be similar to the PMD games, so maybe have some small simplified exploring mini-games to get your camp firewood and stuff. Maybe even include battles like an annual tournament you can coach other Pokemon in to get nice rewards for your town.or just enter yourself in. I love the idea of assigning jobs to each PokeVillager though.

The idea sounds really nice to me. I'd play it if it existed.

this also got me thinking about a "Raid-Type Calamity," where your village gets, well... raided.
by like viking-ish pokemon or something? maybe some weaviles & parasects & other shady characters?
the town would have to defend themselves & minimize as much damage to the town as possible.
if your defence is exceptional enough, you might be able to capture one of the raiders & jail them! when they finish their sentence (& if you visit them & bring them shit while they're in the slammer,), there's a chance they'll join your village. it's a LOT of hoops to hop through just for ONE of these reformed raider villagers, but they'd be VERY useful.
also, because it would cause a concern about uprising & mutiny, there would be a risk-reward thing going on about having too many captured raiders as villagers.
