Cynthia: A champion, that doesn't use her title as a way to empower her ego, and doesn't feel the need to present herself as it, because she's a grounded person and a trainer first. A charismatic character detailed by how smart she is, counting that she could also be considered an historian because she knows a lot about the ancient stuff of Sinnoh, all the legends and comes in help of the player more than once.
Her total nature gets revealed at the end of the game once the player knows she's the champion, the one person that has to guard an all the region and be helpful once something bad happens.
Barry: An impulsive kid, with an absent father who lives with his mother in a little town. He tries to overdo himself all the time because he doesn't want to be inferior to the presence of his father and wants instead to be accepted and respected by him, and maybe (he thinks) by doing this his father might spend more time with him.
Cyrus: A cynical, nichilist who hates the world as it is and wants to recreate in the shape he wants it.
Obsessed with control, domination, power, so that he cannot feel inferior, wrong, rejected.
He becomes a madman who think that can have the key of the universe in his hands and enslaves two legendary Pokémon to reach his will.
