Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira was written in the mid-80s with an animated film adaptation in 1988. Pocket Monsters, as an idea, sprung up at least in 1990. In Akira, scientists try to replicate the insanely powerful, but child-like psychic named Akira by experimenting on an angsty, older boy named Tetsuo. When Tetsuo's psychic powers go out of the scientists' control, he desires to confront Akira, to see who is more powerful. how do you know this is a glitch? the moves don't have descriptions (which you would know if you actually fucking played the game you dumbass zoomer) so nowhere does it say moves are supposed to be 100% accurate.

if you use it, this move will fail
also, there is a Badge Boosts Glitch - when your stat gets modified (for example: enemy pokemon uses growl), then every stat gets boosted. you can't avoid it

Focus Energy will be removed by switching or Haze. The effect of Focus Energy cannot stack, and it will fail if the user is already under its effect.

No, it was literally because it was Babby's First JRPG and so broken that literal mouthbreathers could beat it unlike other games of the era. Look at the Last Bible series on the same console to see how hard Pokemon as a series has been phoning it in since day one.
