I think gen 6 onwards kind of ruined it for a lot of people lmao, the moment Drampa and Turtonator started being propped up against the likes of Hydreigon and Salamence a lot of people stopped taking the type seriously
fairy also kind of killed that overwhelming menace it had going for it in gens 1-5, as well as Dragon-type fans just generally being obnoxious idiots
