Yusuke Ohmura's designs in BW and B2W2 feel cartoonish. Like yeah, Rosa, Elesa, and Skyla are great coombait, but I don't consider them to actually look good. They're just a bit too over the top. What the fuck is Nate? Hilbert, Hilda, N, Professor Juniper, Cedric Juniper, and the mother all look fine because they're Sugimori's art. Sugimori really loved Ohmura's stuff though because he's a huge coomer, so you can see him taking a lot of inspiration from him in Gen VI onward. Like look at Grant's hair, Olympia, or Valerie, or Clemont with his robot arm backpack, and he made it even more cartoonish in Gen VII. Like I really like Nanu as a character and he has some great expressions, but his face is just a little too exaggerated with the eye size and color, and his proportions are a little off. It just feels incompatible with older Pokémon character designs, like you would never see a character like this in any game prior to Gen V.
