Get rid of the ability entirely and nerf its BST to 620 (-10 from each stat).

The gimmick of Slaking is that it has the stats of a legendary but a crippling ability. It makes zero sense to reuse that same gimmick on an actual legendary.

Only lasts 3 turns, only affects speed. Also incorporates the effects of own tempo and inner focus (if araquanid can have 3 abilities in 1, so can gigas)

I don't think they were trying emulate Slaking with Regigigas. I think they were going an "awakening giant" theme. They wanted it be something that would become super threatening if you let it "awaken", AKA if you couldn't kill it in five turns. If that was the intent, then they fucked up the execution really bad. A much better way to pull off that idea would be to make Regigigas start off with it's normal stats, but give it a big boost if it stays in for five consecutive turns.

They designed Regigigas without competitive play in mind because Pokemon was not 8ntended to have such an in depth competitive scene.

An innocuous hidden ability like Clear Body is all it would need to improve. Hell, as long it's not harmful like Truant or Defeatist, it could be even Ball Fetch for all I care.
