>>47798854Conquest is a guilty-pleasure of mine; I know it's pretty fucking simple and not exactly the best rts in the world but fuck you I love the concept dearly and the gameplay is extremely fun. it's also weirdly fitted to the DS, to the point where I can't imagine it on any other platform (other than maybe the wii u if I stretch my imagination a bit), which I enjoy a lot considering the DS is my favorite system and games that feel at home on it just make the experience of playing on the thing so much better.
PMD is also great, but honestly not for the reasons I think most people like it. The stories are really not as good as most people say, they feel like fanfiction in a bad way and can be kind of annoying in how little sense they make at times, but they're also insanely endearing (both in terms of character writing and in terms of just being so batshit insane (with TDS and beyond, BRT is fairly grounded)] and the only video games that've ever prompted tears from me (specifically BRT, Sky didn't do as much for me and I haven't replayed GTI or Super since their releases). their gameplay also isn't really my thing, but it's really fun once I get into it (which is just hard for me to do).
what they lack in engaging gameplay and good writing they make up for in pure charm and an utterly stellar premise that I think'll carry the series for years to come in some form or another.
those two are sort of the only spin-offs i've ever gotten my hooks into, the Ranger series was always meh to me and i've never gotten the chance to play stuff like Snap, Pinball, the GC games, or any of the shitty mobile apps TPC likes to peddle as spin-offs nowadays.
Rumble 1 and 2 are also decent, but nothing super special.
