Are there any moments in the pokemon series games that are meant to be genuinely funny on the writer's part?

I always thought the part from hg/ss where ethan/lyra give you their number in front of their grandparents was meant to be funny but I can't really think of any other intentionally funny moments. Anyone remember any?

i cant recall specific examples because its been a while since ive played, but ive always remembered HGSS and XY having the best/funniest writing. unsure of how much of that is intentional jokes and how much is just that surreal, bizarre, ESL-awkward-translation-vibes that pokemon's always had. the lines the battle frontier trainers say before the fights in HGSS are almost entirely exceptional.

i actually didn't mind swsh's writing either, unbeatable charizard notwithstanding

I remember a moment in b/w where team plasma get all weirded out because of a fake ghetsis which was kinda funny, can't remember the full context though.
