I always wondered how strong are pokemon compared to humans? Can a 3ft Braixen beat an adult man to death? Is there any official word on this or is it all theory crafting?

There's always a character that tell the pc "It's dangerous to go outside without a Pokemon" so maybe the average untrained pokemon is stronger than untrained humans?

At the base level they're just animals who can shoot beams or go really fast until you get to the big ones like Haxorus or legendaries or whatever, but even Legendaries can be weakened and captured to some degree. Also I think humans in the Pokemon world are extra durable, remember that guy in GCS that ate a Hyper Beam from Lance's Dragonite?

Depends on if you mean in the anime or the games, I guess.
The anime does all the usual anime stuff, putting massive craters into things, tearing rock fields apart without effort, melting steel, blasting giant mecha to scrap, etc.
The games, you need Cut to cut down little saplings, there's no collateral damage from any battles, nobody's health or safety is at risk unless the plot demands it, etc.

I'd say that most adults could beat most pokemon that are not fully evolved.

Fucking Onix is only 463 pounds, you could drag that thing behind you with some effort.

Things like Bewear and Legendaries are a different story of course. But too many pokemon are outclassed by humans.

Physically? I doubt it. With its magics? Yes. Just about any Pokemon could kill a human if they wanted to. That said, Pokehumans are a lot tougher than us. A Braixen bite could tear us up pretty good if we're not careful, but a Pokehuman? Lucky if it broke their skin.

This is never remotely implied. Pokehumans are identical to real world humans, anything suggesting otherwise is just non-canon cartoon physics.

You generally don't use your full strength in training. The Pokemon hold back so they don't seriously hurt their trainers.

If pokehumans were are weak as real life humans they would die just by being close to a fight. Remember how many precaution mythbusters take to make sure explosions don't take them to the hospital? Pokemon can make worse explosions and their trainers don't get affected

Btw behind the pokemon is a terrible place to be because the opponent's pokemon is shooting projectiles in your direction. Projectiles that can be evaded by your pokemon and unlike bullets can destroy boulders

This anon is exactly right. It's the entire reason you get one at the beginning of the game. So you can protect yourself against feral pokemon. Those pokemon at the time being pidgeys and ratatas. Why would you need to protect yourself from birds and mice unless they are dangerous enough to do significant damage?
