I remember it solely because Smogon had a huge debate about banning scald some years back and I remembered wondering why, if Scald was some bigly OP move, Volcanion was sat around RU with a 110 power version of the exact same move.

Scald is only broken on fat walls with regenerator who can afford to sit on their asses and fish for burns while sponging hits. Also, Steam Eruption only has 8 pp so it can't really be spammed as much.
