You are given a huge list of creatures and at least a few of them are bound to make your imagination go weird places. Pokémon is an experimentation tool.

Speaking as now an adult, my sexuality is less plastic and I know what I like when I see it. I don't need to experiment. Not to mention, I just can't be arsed to fantasize about Pokémon like I used to. Nowadays, I consider only a small pool of Pokémon to be at least vaguely attractive AND only about a dozen of those do I ever still fantasize remotely about—and half of that dozen are Eevee.

Around 8 with the show, 13 with the games.
Don't get me wrong, I never played any pokemon until 2008 when a friend got me a GBA emulator, and all I had back then was Gen 1 to 3, the G1 remakes, the pinball games, and Rescue Team Red.
When I was done with those (around 2010/11), I never picked another.
Sometimes I think "maybe I should get No$gba and play G4", but nah.

Internet didn't got popular until 2013 (3rd world here).
