We got armored mewtwo (along with the clone pokemon) because they redid the 1st movie and wanted tie-ins to promote it, same deal with meltan's reveal/release and lgpe. Unless we miraculously get a switch port of XD or a 3rd Orre game to make it relevant and thus something they could use to drive sales it's not happening. Hell, the shadow/purified pokemon in Go don't even use the same wording in Japanese as the ones in the gamecube games nor do they follow the same rules gameplay or graphics wise, if anything they're closer to the dark and light pokemon in the tcg.

GF HATES the orre games since they continue to upstage modern GF releases a decade and a half later. They'd sooner pull the plug on go than acknowledge colo or gale any further than adding shadow mons, who have of course been retooled to remove any extraneous references to orre.

They're irrelevant to them friend, especially since post Gen III they never deleted pokémon collections or force people to re-start collecting them. Orre games were made to allow people to catch Gen II shit in Gen III( they even deleted Johtomons from RSE/FRLG to force GC sales). Nowadays, with Bank, Home and compatibility between Gens, it's redundant, a relic of the past, yet also a reminder why kids will never care about people's complaints here

I don't think Gamefreak hates Orre. They're just completely apathetic toward those games. GO being able to use Shadow Pokemon seems to imply that there's nothing actually stopping anyone from using shit from those games, it's just that nobody really wants to.
