They did good with water routes, I would still leave bollard sometimes on land, maybe they removed them because players wanted to pass them and get annoyed idk.

I prefer the open, endless sea of grasslands around Pallet Town instead of being surrounded by trees. It reminds me of Kansas in Wizard of Oz, & having an open horizon all around you inspires me to leave my humble home & explore the great beyond.
