>>47832091With how linear the stories are, yes. But if they ever decide to have "some" choice and consequence in an "RPG" game then it wouldn't be.
Imagine having a choice in joining the main villain team while your rival does all the generic pokemon gym/e4 stuff, as you get in their way along the routes. The main threat/legendary pokemon can still be the same, just how you get there different.
Or altogether make your character form the "villain" team. Give encouraging advice to all trainers you beat along the way, as they take your advice horribly wrong, form a cult behind you as you blitz through gyms, catch legendary pokemon, etc.
Not going to create whole scripts, but I think there's more to be done with the idea.
