It was a deeply, confusingly pointless product that I assume was meant for kids that know the hype around the original but might find it too crusty. It cannot really "celebrate" the original because MSB isn't a good movie once you take it out of its "crown of Pokemania" context, but it cannot "fix" it because its a remake. The English dub script is a lot more faithful to the Japanese, but 20 years later and with the 4Kids actors long gone that doesn't mean much (though Dan Green is always fun). The one thing the 3D space gained the movie was a much more dynamic final battle scene, and when it looked good it looked quite good, mostly some of the environments and the ending montage. I'd post caps but I don't have the file presently.
And boy howdy did having Otani scream her guts out as Pikachu trying to resuscitate petrified Ash NOT come off as intended.
