I was a late adopter of PGO and always viewed it as a way to pad out my Pokemon Home Pokedex and get shinies. I stopped playing it right before the Home update came, transported my rare Pokemon and haven't really gone back for multiple reasons:
>no car or license, so its a pain getting to Pokestops (and I have an average amount near me)
>it doesn't look like anybody plays anymore, so raids are pretty much impossible to do (and aside from like one good Ho-oh and Groundon, I only have shitmon)
>I really don't want to be forced to clear certain content in one day, I want the freedom to pick up and play whenever I want
>only found 3 unique shiny Pokemon which discouraged me
>hit a point where I can't even spin Pokestops because I have too much items
With the game going back to the pre-COVID way of doing things when my country is mostly in lockdown, I don't really see a reason to go back at all now. I have like 50 incenses that were free and a whole bunch of other stuff, but they just sit there now.
I really wish I played during 2016, but I was a NEET that couldn't even afford phone data.
