those were never planned and instead B2W2 came out with Kyurem forms instead, because they thought that was better
Delaying a piece of lore leaving Kalos games empty is just pointless and the only reason they did it is that XY were rushed

They rushed it for the anniversary so that Sun and Moon games can come out as soon as possible to ride the hype. They sacrificed Gen 6 for Gen 7 whose most memorable traits is the cringy super special attack dance and that there are plenty of girls for everyone to jack off to.

Sun moon was always going to be 2016. They sacrifice 2015's Z in order to spend time to study the switch hardware, and we got LGPE as a testing ground for 2018 before gen 8 in 2019. I wont say much about the quality of the games since it is subjective.

ORAS was CALOS_RESERVE1 and 2 you fucking dumbass. The whole point of the CALOS_RESERVE slots is to mark games with a Kalos origin mark.

Running around in alola fetching all those 100 zycuck cells and rush to route 16 only to see zygarde got a *new* ability instead of choosing between any of the forms freely was and will forever be one of the most disappointing rewards for an already abyssmal and tedious quest
