If you think however this means they're throwing out the past 25 years' style of game arund that, you're sadly mistaken. Anyone with eyes ad a functioning brain can see they're wanting to go Open World for Gen IX, seeing as the DLC and their next effort both lean into the tropes contained in those games, rather than the ones their kiddy game spawned. But then again, Legends' plot isn't really a diversion from core gameplay. There'll still be the 8-ish plot tokens to collect, to progress the plot to become the best trainer in the region and meet the Legendaries, even if it's not a slavish copy of the core gameplay loop.
