Is there really no way to play pic related, permanently fixing the random black screen freezes that happen everytime you enter or exit a building? I'm using nds-bootstrap via TWiLight Menu latest version.

I am but I did modify it to make trade evos possible through leveling with the Universal Randomiser. The only patches I saw were for the anti piracy measure which is already applied by the Menu.

I read multiple fourms trying to find answers but I think I recall someone mentioning R4 flashcards having the same issue as well. Even Desume devs being the useless dicks they are got tired of people asking about this problem, refused to fix it and just said "DURR JUST SAVE MORE OFTEN NEXT TIME"

I’m not happy about it either I keep not thinking about it and losing 5 levels of progress across my team because I wasn’t diligent enough.

The fact it's been over over a decade and not ONE person's bothered to supply a widespread fix for this that works for all emulators and devices really shows how dead the DS scene is.
ALL because the faggot who made Desmume didn't like Pokemon and got sick of people rightfully complaining that it didn't emulate correctly. IMAGINE being the fucking retard who decides "I'm gonna make a DS emulator!" and NOT expect 99% of inquiries to be Pokemon-related.

Firstly, savestates was often mentioned to make the crashes worse, secondly there's no option to load savestates in TwiLight Menu and thirdly I'm using the original 3DS where soft resetting (not that it would even work at all during the crash) would only just reload the 3DS home menu and you'd have to wait a few loading screens to return to the game.

At least now I know this isn't just some issue that was eventually forgotten in time. Desume on the other hand has always had shitty egotistical devs and I can't wait till MelonDS reaches a stable state in its development.

Doesn't matter. The crashes are a problem that occurs whether you're emulating or not.

MelonDS is also having issues with saveRAM for all the mainline games currently where they would always end up corrupted once reloading the game because files would never actually save.

It happened to me multiple times when I was trying to replay Platinum and SS. You can see this the first time you save your game it would save a lot of data even when you would immediately save a second time because it's not actually saving properly.

Once you reboot the game you get pic related.
