Steel is no were near as bad as Fairy. Especially since they (rightfully) nerfed Steel by removing its resistance to Ghost and Dark).

Bug weakness would be a good way to balance it, since Bug, Poison, and Steel aren't very good offensively anyways.

Fairy is the best type in the game, Anon.
This is public knowledge. Most people think that is should have more losing match-ups but the most common complain is the bug resistance.

Fairy was made to be an overpowered type. It was built to counter a lot of things that were too powerful. The problem comes when you mix it with something like steel and give it good stats, mega-mawile, zacian, mag, that it scales out of control. Some types have always been better or worse, see normal vs dragon.

Defensively yeah, Ice should gain a Water, Grass and Flying resist at the very least and maybe a Ground resist if you’re generous, along with a défense boost in Hail. Also, before anyone comes along screaming “NO ICE CANT BE DEFENSE TYPE YOU RETURD NIGGOR FAGGIT”, remember that there are Bug, Fire, Poison, Flying, Ground and Grass type Pokémon meant to be defensive, and that GF is still churning out defensive Ice types for some reason despite them currently only having a resistance to themselves.

No. Poison and Steel were offensively outclassed by any other type SE against Grass, and Fighting, respectively. Bug already has two other types it is strong against. Poison needs this niche against Fairy. Remove the Bug resist only.

Grass is horrible offensively, But Water isn't that good offensively to warrant getting another resists, but I like it resisting Flying and Ground.

I would like that between Fairy and Bug there was mutual immunity like Ghost-Normal, not because of the metagame, but because of lore wise, you know that fairies would avoid damaging nature.

Fairy and Grass would also work.

You made a good point about Poison’s niche, yes only removing Fairy’s Bug resist makes sense.

Fairy having two immunities would be pretty busted but I agree that the mutual immunity idea could fit lorewise, more types having the same relationship to each other is something worth exploring.

People never used those to kill dragons since they were always terrible "defensive" shitmons with like three exceptions.

Fighting is only common because Steel is so ubiquitous as a defensive type. Nobody used fighting type moves even for coverage in gen 1.

Grass already has enough to deal with so maybe giving Ice a desist to water, ground and flying should be decent (maybe fairy or electric as well if we’re turning ice into more of a defensive type in exchange of nerfing its offensive capabilities a bit).

Adding on, any european fairy story I've read had the fairies either outsmart the bugs/insects they interacted with ot flat-out had domesticated and subjugated them. Fairy resiting Bug makes sense as Fairies were never threatened by bugs and insects.

Don’t agree with fairy not being super effective on dragons as the whole point of its existence is to counter dragons but the rest is basically fine though maybe a ground resist for ice would be nice as well (and as a ghost fag, even I’ll admit that ghost is long overdue for a nerf).

I agree with the first two, but a large number of bugs do not have digging capabilities, or good maneuverability on the ground (Butterflies, Moths, some bees and wasps, Mantis, water striders, Dragonflies, Spiders)

I think it would be better to give them an ability or move that is super effective against Ground to certain lines, like; Durant, Nincada, Pinsir, and other lines like Drapion and Flygon due to their concept.

Steel mixes with other types and abilities way too well defensively. Add flying? There goes the fighting and ground weakness. Bug? Only weakness is fire, even if it’s 4x. Then there’s Flash Fire, Levitate, it just synergizes so easily with most things it’s absurd.
