It actually blows my mind to see the amount of people who actually defend the absolutley minimal effort being put into games coming out for a home console 3 generations after Colesseum and don't even handle 3D as well as the 3DS titles. I don't even particularly prefer the 2D Sprites, but if that's all Gamefreak can handle they shouldn't be making 3D titles and it should get outsourced to a company that actually cares/knows how to make game.
