>>47868016Realistically it doesn’t seem like demand will lower, until perhaps when the majority of fans with nostalgia for the GBA/DS gens lose interest. Problem is that might be until a much older age since the faltering new games may not be seen as surpassing that handheld era’s peak for quite some time- and if you wait that long, a lot of these DS carts just may not work anymore because of how iffy they can be with age, lowering supply and thus further constricting whatever existing demand there is.
Another hope is the off chance that they port gba/ds era games directly with transfers as they did for the Game Boy titles on 3DS- it may not be the only culprit (GB titles sold more and are more available than later entries) but it seemed to help those prices stay less insane. Sadly I don’t think something like BDSP is going to lead to a lower Platinum price, even assuming it was competently done. Nostalgia is too powerful- the more people complain about not being able to play on an authentic cart, the more apparent it is that the prices won’t go down.
