>>47870528The reason why people are criticizing gen 2, is because it does not challenge the player and does not make up for this by allowing the player to use many of the interesting pokemon from gen 2 in actual Johto portion of the game.
Trying to defend this by saying it is intentional design by game freak, or switch out your team to increase the challenge, does not address the criticism. Just accept that the games are easy and require a lot of boring battles that pose no real challenge, and are not interesting thematically.
The games are fine for children that want to collect pokemon and do not now what the full dex looks like, but lack any substance for slightly autistic adults that actually seek a challenge.
