>>47870670Hatred is a form of social manipulation. You probably didn't hate a Pokémon until you read people spreading hate towards or making fun of it. Then you'll start to hate it, just because they forced you to hate it. There's a lot of Pokémon (if not all them) that shouldn't get the amount of hate they got, but because this bad reputation people made for them you and many people won't give them a chance.
Same thing happens when you see everyone talking about how nice a Pokémon is, even if you didn't think that before. Think about Eiscue. Firstly, the Pokémon was hated, but because TPC put a lot of effort to change the general reception about it, now you will see more love than hate for it. The design didn't change, but the hate for it is almost gone.
You can see people talking about how Toucannon is a literal toucan, but you wouldn't read anything similar about Pidgey. You can see people hating Stonjourner because it's a rock with face and legs, but you wouldn't see people hating Geodude for being literally the same. This hypocrisy is not because the design is worse than the other, if this were the case they would arguing with different arguments.
