She rejected Meowth and called him a freak
Then years later when she was abandoned by her original rich trainer and then treated badly by Meowth's old gang (who now has a Persian leader) she rejects Meowth AGAIN even after he saves her and still calls him a freak
I don't think anyone imagined people could be so cruel after you show them kindness like that but it happens quite often
