It won't because its being sabotaged.

>BDSP will cannibalize most of Legends Sales since its being released two months earlier
>Legends is being relased in Jan the worst possible time to be released since its right AFTER the Holiday sweet spot.

Game Freak doesn't want to try, so they're intentionally making Legends flop so they can use the numbers as an excuse to never stray from their current formula.

Here is the truth behind the upcoming games:
>game freak wanted to remake gen 4 after swsh
>realised it wasn't feasible with how much trouble they had with SWSH and the backlash they got
>Took what little they had and reworked it into an open world game to shut up people asking for a botw-like game
>outsource remakes to ILCA who have ready to use assets from HOME and SWSH combined with 1:1 graphical style for the lowest effort possible option aside from just porting the originals
>fool proof plan for game freak since even if people didn't like BDSP they still get a Sinnoh game and will buy both anyways since they're impatient and addicted
>two half-baked games, double the profit. They may even go in for a triple kill if gen 9 is still next year

The fact it's a flat port of DP to modern engines shows they had no interest in it - even being forced to make ORAS, they still have the gumption to actually try and do something new with it. They had more interest reimagining Sinnoh to help Gen IX than please Sinnohtoddlers.
