Genuine question, why are these games spared from the criticisms of the other gen 4 games, when they contain many of the same technical issues? (Gen 4 is my favorite gen, I just don't understand why people shit on DP all the time for being slow as hell, but these games never receive that negative feedback)

also the bag is much more efficient in hgss. In platinum I had to actively try to not use the bag because there’s no way to sort it and scrolling through the giant list of retarded filler items was fucking retarded and slow.

Because Platinum, Heart Gold, and Soul Silver were NOT slow as hell like Diamond and Pearl.

The only thing they fixed in Platinum is the surf speed. The entire rest of the game is just as retardedly slow as DP.

They are not. HGSS is as slow as DPPt.
It makes up for it by excelling in other areas.
The golden era (3/4/5) is kept by the balance of flaws.
For 3, it's obsoleteness
For 4, it's the slowness of battle system
For 5, it's the graphics.

I like HG/SS but it's still far from my favorite. They never fixed the abysmal level curve, Kanto is still dull as fuck and the only cool thing was the still gimped Safari Zone. I don't understand the love other then "old is good, new is bad". In terms of gameplay, it's no better or worse then X/Y, it just has more to do, but Pokemons "more to do" is some 40 second mini games and for someone reason, people REALLY love playing against NPC's. I never got the appeal to Battle Factory/Frontier gameplay.

Imo they're not amazing remakes. The new content like BF, Pokeathelon and walking Mons are nice but the game doesn't really fix all the core issues gen 2 had, particularly the awful levelling before the E4. They really shoulda put the versus seeker in.

Battles in Plat and HGSS are slow. But they are faster than DP, even if only slightly. DP has a lot of little pauses throughout the battle scene that Plat and HGSS doesn't have.
