>>47922096It depends on what you're looking to get out of it. Crystal is the peak classic Pokémon experience, ironing out a lot of the issues with both gen 1 as well as the other 2 gen 2 games and delivering a legitimately great game despite the limitations of the hardware.
Soul Silver on the other hand is the definitive is very much a gen 4 game, and focuses more on playing with the Johto setting in order to create something that embraces the changes gens 3 and 4 had made to the franchise while still staying true to the story and even general level curve of the original games.
I don't think either are objectively better than the other like some anons have said, but before choosing which one to play you should ask yourself what it is you want out of the experience and then look into which one looks like it'll deliver better on what you're after.
