Assuming the Pokémon isn't subservient to me, has free will, and is on the same emotional and reasoning level as a human then sure. Having a nice body isn't everything to getting married, I need an emotional & personal connection to marry someone. Otherwise I don't see why I'd marry them so we'd just be friends.

It’s not real lore. It’s literally just one line in a book about folk tales. Might as well be a line from a fairy tale. It never presents it as a historical fact or anything of that sort since it’s a literal folk tale. There’s no context behind the story like who they’re actually talking about. We have no reason to take it in earnest.

You cannot convince me that having a healthy and normal romantic relationship with all the ups and downs with a Pokemon is a bad thing! I know there'd be people in the world who'd happily have a loving relationship with Team Rockets Meowth, so no double standards for other Pokemon like him.
