Your opinion isn't unpopular at all, it seems to be widely agreed that it was the best new one shown (though I disagree that Hisuian Braviary was the worst, I'm not too big on Wyrdeer even though I don't really hate it)

Torkoal I wouldn't call neglected, it's been a menace in Doubles ever since it got Drought, to the point where it's a legitimate competitor for the role of Sun setter with Groudon, a legendary. The others I agree though, especially Maractus.

Braviary, Basculin, Stantler, and Growlithe aren’t in the Sinnoh Dex. I wager it’ll only be Gen 1-3 ‘Mons not found in the Sinnoh Dex and then Gens 5-7 ‘Mons. Maybe even a few Gen 8:

Probably nothing from Galar for being too recent or Sinnoh for being overly complex. Anything in the sinnoh dex already is unlikely like golduck or tropius. The starters have a decent chance to get a new form

Gen 2 evos were upgrades because Gen 2 started with garbage. Togekiss and ambipom still managed to do worse than bad and Mamoswine ruined one of the only good designs in that shit low effort generation.

OP here, I'll be honest the only gripe I have with the design is that it looks like it's dynamaxing with the pink shit. All it's missing is the cloud on it's head and resizing it to make it 10 times larger and BOOM Gigantamax Basculin
