I've just realised that, assuming that Stantler and Basculin don't have Hisuian forms that evolve into these, Wyrdeer and Basculegion are the first TRUE cross-gen evolutions we've gotten since Gen 4 apart from Sylveon. The few new evolutions for old Pokemon we got in SwSh were all evolutions of Galarian form Pokemon.
This could be a revival of proper cross-generation evolutions finally returning after they died off due to Gen 4. I'm crossing my fingers for Dunsparce!
