So anyone else losing hope that Mons after gen 5 won't be in BDSP? Literally the one hope I have for these remakes, it be really cool to use Pokémon that aren't in the originals, it's an easy ass incentive.

I didn't expect anything but what was in Gen IV in the first place.
But I listen to what I'm told, not ignore it to develop my own headcanons on the matter as I can't face the finality of the situation.

I've kinda given up hope that there will be when thr trailer only showed up to Gen 4 Pokemon without a single one from anything past that. I do think there's always the possibility that they'll put in the rest of the missing Pokemon with an update when Home connectivity is established for BDSP since they want to focus of SwSh being the main competitive game, but I find it really hard to think that GameFreak would be anywhere near competent to do that. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they do though.

While I hope you guys are right, the problem I have with this statement is it's way too vague it could easily be like "yeah this mon is in this game this time" but that doesn't mean they'll include all of them, idk hope you guys are right

It's not a matter of competancy, it's a matter of they told you they had changed studio ethos and they're sticking to this change. Undoubtdly they could add more pokemon with an update, but realistically they won't, as they're too busy working on finalising Gen IX in the background while Legends reaches theend of its cycle, thus won't spare anyone to add the missing, as they're needed - either for IX itself or for early planningof its DLC or the next Gen IX game for release around '24.

You and that other anon misunderstand me. I don't expect anything but what was in Gen IV's ND, shit like Sylveon and the regional forms of the pokémon that lived in Sinnoh in DP. And I certainly don't expect them to add a dead gimmick. I'm not smooth-brained enough to think they stuttered when they said ME wouldn't appear in Gen VIII. Last I looked, this is still Gen VIII and will be until at least late next year, when they launch the next pair of titles in the core series.

Theres no reason we cant have all pokemon back with sinnoh and galars dexes and very few remainders. The fight for bbnd is now more possible. If the backlash is repeated, they may just do it this time to not go through it again, to not make enemies out of swshills and because it is even easier to do than before.
