Its actually pretty even. Mewtwo, Zacian or Dexoys can take Superman. Imagine Kubu vs Robin or Greninja vs Batman.
I'd imagine Gengar fucking with Raven. Beast Boy and Snorlax being bros. Shazam would be fanboying the entire time.

Cheetah teams up with Meowth. Poison Ivy makes Ludicolo do her dirty work. Shazam and Biuzzwole arm wrestle. Decidueye and Green Arrow practicing with each other. Lucario and Black Canary.

Lex's only goal is to collect them all and use them to defeat Superman via manipulating Mewtwo. But Mewtwo would hate Lex because he would see Giovanni in him. Cyborg can relate to Scizor. Aquaman and Sirfetch'd sword fight.

MvCI had infinity stones, MvC1 gave Ryu modes, the broken as fuck X factor, SFxT had Pandora mode, and Tatsuneko vs Capcom, and many other Vs Capcom games, had various tag team mechanics too.

Always felt most of these Pokemon needs trainer to co-represent for their Pokemon ala Masters but it's probably a mandated exceptional thing.
