I’ve been a fan of Pokémon since the beginning and my confidence in GameFreak is accordingly shaky, but it’s disingenuous to suggest we know everything about these games. These people are huge fans of the slow drip feed for prerelease information. It really surprised me revisiting how late Mega Evolution was revealed before launch, for example, even though it was teased as early as April with the new Mewtwo “form.” I’m sure there’s more still to come with Legends: Arceus. While I’m starting to worry about things like abilities, they could definitely be retooled or replaced, and it’s not too late for some sort of challenge battles or PvP to show up.
