Harvest, Grassy Terrain, or even something like Solid Rock could work
Radical Red has a unique ability for Torterra's M*ga form, called "Self-Sufficient". Basically giving Torterra Leftovers, but in the form of an ability, instead of an item

Notice how all of these are fitting and either nullify Torterra's weaknesses, or gives it new strengths? Unlike Thick Fat, which barely does anything to fix Torterra + doesn't even fit Torterra, in the first place

Besides, what Torterra should get most of all is Shell Smash. That, and maybe some improved stats. More physical coverage would also be appreciated, especially more biting moves

Solid Rock at least fits way better than Thick Fat
