What's your favorite gen/region and why do you love it? Also comfy fanart thread. My favorite is picrel for the biome diversity and interconnectedness of routes throughout the game.

same as you OP, the new mons being my favorite of any other gen helps a lot with my love for the place and the music that screams adventure like no other region just adds to it even more.

Unova because all of the shitposting about it over a span of 3 months has attracted my attention much more closely to it so now I have a much stronger interest in it after doing my own research and learning about all of the features from BW2 thanks to the Streisand effect.

Have a hard time choosing between Johto and Sinnoh. Love the traditional feeling of Johto, especially Ecruteak, but I might pick Sinnoh if forced to choose. I appreciate how much more diverse it is compared to Johto, and generally prefer the colder, mountainous nature of the region.

Johto has my favorite map, dungeons, and OST, but Alola is my favorite region overall. It seems like a place that wouldn't just be fun to explore (if exploration actually were possible beyond tiny side areas in game), but also live in, has my favorite cast of characters, and most of my favorite mons naturally show up in the wild in Alola, or in the periodic wormholes that dot it.

I absolutely love Sinnoh's mix of beautiful green fields and forests, and snowy areas, along with having a huge mountain to go hiking on. It being a comfy cool climate too, to bundle up with warm clothes/Pokemon.

I really like it, pretty much hate all other generations, generation II is pretty tolerable and sometimes enjoyable, I pretty much accept all the Gen2 evos and pre-evos of Kanto Pokémon.
I hate all Gen3 Pokémon, the only saving grace of that generation was the introduction of abilities. Fire Red & Leaf Green were pretty fucking based though, they should have had included gen2 evos before post game and Sevii Island shouldnt have existed.

I love Sinnoh and how it ties its mythology and stories to the region. You got the three lakes, you got Mt Coronet dividing Sinnoh in half, you got the peak of Mt Coronet in the middle etc.. There was a lot of thought put into story and gameplay integration imo. I also really like Hoenn

The tropical feel is nice. There's something about the trainer outfits and Pokemon design that just looked great to me, lots of bold forms, stripes, and zigzag patterns. Lots of characters have cool bandanas. Some pretty unique areas like Fortree, Fallarbor, and the Abandoned Ship. Even though the encounter tables are fucked, I enjoy all the sea routes a lot, especially Pacifilog and diving areas. And Hoenn music is so fucking good, unlike any of the other gens

Kalos, I honestly think it’s still the prettiest of the regions despite being on the 3DS. The autumn aesthetics are my absolute favorite, but the whole region looks great. Having such a big city in Lumiose and crazy architecture like in Anistar and Kiloude is neat.
