But it basically is. BOTW was a refreshing take that Zelda sorely needed after Skyward Sword completely went off the wire with linear "puzzles" that put a bigger emphasis on a structured narrative instead of engaging gameplay.
Legends is them combining the more outwardly concepts they were experimenting with from Let's Go with the atmosphere from Gen 8 DLC. From what we can tell, it will almost certainly be open world where much of the emphasis is placed on giving the player enough agency to make their own adventure in each of the prefectures of Hisui. That alone is commendable, at this point i'll take ANYTHING but another godawful SM/USUM/SWSH "game".

Looking forwards to this game so much more than SwSh

Interesting concepts, amazing aesthetics, actual innovative gameplay for this series, for once I'm as interested in the Pokemon, even more-so than the people and even then it's in their relation to the Pokemon.

I don't give a damn if the whole game needed to take cues from BOTW and Zelda in general. Fucking great. Literally exactly what I asked for.

This. The standard Pokemon formula is tired. I just want a new way to experience an adventure in the Pokemon world. Hopefully next game is set in "modern" Pokemon era, but I'm more than happy with this for now.
