pokemondb has better sprite layouts, don’t give joe his googlecoin.
also does anyone remember the really good sprite website that got DDOSed relentlessly and shut down a few years ago? It had those minimalist wallpapers for each pokemon

Because they literally finalized sneasels design a month before the game came out in Japan. They forgot to do the colors until crystal though.

RS is still the old sprite style. That's why it looks terrible. It's the old style but rather than being appealing it has the worst color choices available on top of being off model.

FRLG is when the artstyle changes.

It is more dynamic but since Gen 5 has animated sprites. The pose can't be the same cause he would be probably fall over
