Does the process of reviving fossils somehow add the rock typing to them? Was everything made of stone back in the olden days?
Another example of just how lazy the pokemon designs are.

I think mean the type's design. The only really lazy designs are Armaldo and Carracosta. Both try too hard to replicate Kabutops

Probably

By that logic, the reason the Galarian fossils aren't Rock type is because being made up of two different Pokemon overrides the Rock type

Is the rock-type meant as a "gambling" archetype like how Fire, Ice, Electric, Poison inflict status effect, Grass has a lot of support/indirect moves, and Dark specializes in limiting the opponent over direct power?
The examples are Rock Slide which is more powerful than most Flinch moves but less accurate, Rock Blast, and Stone Edge having low accuracy but high crit hit.

Only rock type Pokemon are able to be preserved well enough to be suitable candidates for revival. Aerodactyl's mega shows that the species was a rock type pre revitalization. By the time of swsh, the technology has progressed to where non rock types can be revived as well.

Mew isn't Rock type, yet its fossil was preserved enough to be able to create Mewtwo from it. Genesect was also created from a fossil, though I guess you could make the argument that Team Plasma turning it into a cyborg could have overwritten its Rock type with Steel.

"Mew gave birth" was a metaphor, retard. The whole point was they couldn't acquire Mew, but they did get some DNA samples they used for the basis of Mewtwo.

Yes, it's a retcon because Mega Aerodactyl wasn't thought of yet when Aerodactyl was created. Doesn't change the fact that this series doesn't use unreliable narrators, so everything character or the Pokedex say is true, because otherwise, the writers wouldn't have written it.

They seem to have ignored the "can't breathe unless it's underwater" part for Ash's Dracovish though. Which is weird because for other fish Pokemon in the anime, they've always made them unable to battle on land, but they decided to make an exception for Dracovish and make it able to breathe on land.

To be fair fossil restoration despite what the game says/implies isn't literally reviving the dead but more so trying to replicate what a creature was/would have been in the era it was alive.

Its not hard to imagine they would somehow, someway I-don't-have-a-fucking-clue they would be formed from rocks and yes I know it sounds like bullshit.

Also adding the fact that Aerodactyl is one of the fastest Pokémon in-game yet Pokdex entries for other Pokémon imply they're faster so yeah funny inconsistent lore.

It's actually shown that yes, the Pokemon being revived from the fossil is in fact the same organism that left behind the fossil. The fossil is literally converted back into a living creature, and the revived creature retains its memories.

And I guess in the case of the Galarian fossils, they have the memories and personality of the head.

Aquatic Pokémon vary between "useless on land", "swims in the air", and "works the same as a land Pokémon" depending on what is useful for the story being told. Just think of it like how whales can hold their breath for several hours, but for water.

The fish Pokemon are consistently shown as useless on land. We never see a Pokemon swim in air in the anime, so the only aquatic Pokemon that get used on land (aside from the obviously amphibious ones) are stuff like Gyarados and Lapras
