I sorted the Pokemon of each gen respectively on a 5-point scale and analyzed what percent of each gen's mons were at each point, and found that Gen 6 and 7 had the highest percentages of designs I like, and Gen 3 had the lowest by far.

XY didn't need a Z, it just needed SM to be a proper follow-up and not a straight downgrade.
If Zygarde were integral to Alola's plot and the game actually included and expanded on everything from Gen 6, not only would 3d-Pokemon be held in a better light, XY would be prime examples of how games don't need shitty rehashes to be seen as good even if they're technically meh on their own.

I like XY. It has a lot of great qualities for what it was (PSS, Amie, fuckhuge roster of Pokemon to teams out of, Gen 6 also came out with a lot of strong designs, skates). I know it gets lumped along with gens 7 and 8, and I'm not gonna defend it there. But I like XY, sad Kalos got cucked with no "XZ/YZ".

Fucking hate ORAS, though. Dropped OR after the free Latios and haven't touched it since.
