They're harder than they have any real reason to be, I thought they were aimed at children. So why the fuck are all the gyms so hard to beat? I spent hours trying to grind up against several gyms mostly because the types I was using were absolutely worthless against the gym leaders. Which means I had to train twice as much as usual to even be moderately effective. So rather than getting to use any of my favorites I'm instead forced to often go out and catch other pokemon and sink hours of my time into making them strong enough to fight.

And now I'm learning that over half my team have terrible natures and the movesets I have don't really work well against much of anything outside of random trainer battles. Now ask yourself if I at 25 can't even get past the 5th gym leader in a week, how the fuck is some kid supposed to do that? Why does it seem like everything in the game hits me for supereffective damage? Meanwhile I'm struggling to hit them for standard damage without something getting resisted. My ace which happens to be a Beautifly is overleveled to fuck and I still can barely hit things for standard damage. I try sending out Illumise and Mightyena, and it's more of the same. Just getting K'O'ed by supereffective moves. Whether its fighting, or rock, or some other bullshit I just seem to die to everything.
