Is there a gen 6/7 solution to missed events like the DS DNS exploit of gen 4/5?

There is the gen 6/7 wonder card injection method. It's not the same as outright injecting mons, and as long as you set up the date/time/etc right, it'll appear just like a real mon from an event. All you need is a homebrewed 3DS to get started, and well that isn't hard to do anymore, especially since you're probably on a 3DS to do this.
Look around for more regarding this link below, I know a number of people collected up examples of events for you to clone.

Yes, the wondercards distributed are direct duplicates of the originals. Make sure you set your device date back to the time of the events. Serebii's event dex is a good place for researching.

There are Discord servers with bots that can trade you any Pokémon you want provided you have the file.

It's basically injecting if you don't have a hacked switch or you're autistic and think not doing the work yourself doesn't count.

injection in the context of pokemon is to directly insert a specific pokemon down to unique ID rolls into your game via some program. wonder card spoofing is strictly different in that the parameters of a specific pokemon aren't set until received from the delivery person, and will be able to naturally roll IDs and other data that would have to be manually recreated with injection. both are cheating, sure, but wonder card spoofing isn't directly injecting a pokemon to your game
