I don't give a shit about the anime, but I recognize that characters that don't appear in it are doomed to obscurity
The Ultra Recon Squad have gone the way of the Gen 4 Frontier Brains, the Chatelaines and Benga and that makes me sad.
I wonder what SWSH character will get the short end when all's said and done. Someone from the DLC no doubt.

Probably all the base Swsh rivals, Bede never showed up once during the anime’s darkest day plotline and his role got replaced by a random who in black, Marnie at best may get a small role when Piers shows up and Hop (who’s the shitiest rival anyway) got the worst end of the stick out of any character in the franchise as his purpose is more or less fulfilled by Gou and not only that but the rivalry with Ash to beat Leon is already taken by Bea so he is basically more pointless than Hau in the sun and moon anime.
