because it is when you don't use the internet and have no idea what pokemon are where and which ones are strong/broken. Try beating LeafGreen with a venusaur, beedril, paras, and clefairy. Pokemon Colosseum was kind of difficult in places.

Now that you mention it, the Legends Acreus trailers show the player throwing pokeballs and catching pokemon without going into a battle. I wonder how far into the game you could actually get without having to send out a pokemon.
