I want the direction of the series to be more similar to this than some temp battle gimmicks between gens. It's a lot more immersive based than what Pokemon usually attempts.

They are constantly cutting content/reducing effort between gens.I'm well aware, but Legends is different as it seems to be a "ground up" style of project rather than simply adding features upon past entries. Worst case scenario is Legends becomes a split off from the main series, which I'd also be fine with, but a lot of what's been shown would benefit the standard games.
Point is, I'd rather give Legends a chance than not, bc the alternative is basically having no hope left other than nostalgia. And the soundtrack, which is usually very good.
