You're in charge of fixing the starter lines chosen for Legends Arceus.

What do you do?

Branch Evo for last stages?
New/Added Secondary typing?
BST reconfigured?
New HA / moves?

Absolutely no, mainly because this wouldn't fix fix, it would just make them obsolete. Besides the finals evos they already have fit thematically as is.

Maybe, but it's unlikely Game Freak would just change their types. If they do I would add Ground for Typhlosion and add Fighting for Samurott. (Fire/Rock could have been an option for Typhlosion since its actually fast enough to make use of its offense potential but H. Arcanine is already Fire/Rock).

Would be cool but that will never happen.

>New HA / moves?
This is the best option.
All of them get Ancient Power and Nasty Plot in their movepools.
New Moves for Typhlosion: Earth Power, BoomBurst, Explosion (Maybe Belly Drum)
New Moves for Samurott: Flip Turn, Close Combat, Ice Shard (Maybe Shell Smash)
Decidueye: Improve Long Reach.

Also I'd give them signature items based on their "weapon" that boosts some of their stats (similar to how Light Ball, Thick Club, Leek work for Pikachu, Marowak, Farfeth'd).

they could add items that give them new powered up forms akin to zacian and zamazenta. the items could also change their types to

water/fighting
and grass/dark or just keep the grass/ghost

People argue its thematic and they were chosen for story reasons. Samurai / Archer / Shogun, etc. I honestly don't know if they will actually get anything new aside from new moves maybe.

Increases Speed by 1.5, when non-contact moves are used, critical hit ratio is boosted(works with Long Reach).

Typhlosion
>Bombastic Gunpowder
Increases Special Attack by 1.5, boosts evasiveness by 1.5 after the use of a Fire type move(works with Sunny Day)

Samurott
>Fluid Blade
Increases Attack by 1.5, slashing moves(Razor Shell, Night Slash, X-Scissor, Aerial Ace, etc) have +1 priority.

I also thought of signature moves for Typhlosion and Samurott

I’d keep the final forms as is, but after an encounter with Arceus 2/3rds into the story, he would grant your starter a battle-bond like ability that awakens a new form called Chosen (Starter). These forms are essentially Arceus blessing your starter into a perfected form, lore wise it would be Arceus choosing you and your starter as Hisiui’s heroes. In game, all of their BST’s are increased to 600, and they all gain a new secondary type.

Decidueye would become Grass/Fairy and gain a major speed buff and a new signature Dual Fairy/Grass type move ‘Life Arrow’. It’s physical, does 100bp, 10pp, and will either create Misty or Grassy terrain. Chosen Decidueye’s design would be based on an amalgamation of folk heroes like Robin Hood,fairy tale pixies/Elves, and Hachiman, protecting the Pokémon of Hisui by stealing the life force of poachers and Pokémon hunters.

Typhlosion would become Fire/Steel and get both defences buffed, and Special attack. His signature move would be ‘Molten Metal’, a dual type Steel/Fire move, it’s special, 100bp, 10pp, and has a 100% chance to burn. Chosen Typhlosion be based on Kagutsuchi, the Kami of fire, and molten iron, as iron is an important part of the Kagutsuchi myths.This Typhlosion is the protector of the mountains and underground, and anyone who attempts to pollute or mine in its territory will be met with raging flames that will burn for eternity but never spread.

Samurott would become Water/Fighting, and have his stats redistributed into a bulky physical attacker with respectable speed. His signature move would be ‘Storm of Swords’, a physical Water/Fighting dual move. 50bp, 10pp. This move always hits twice, and has a 40% chance to hit 3 times, and a 15% chance to hit 4 times. Each hit also has a 50% chance of causing rain. Chosen Samurott would obviously keep his samurai inspiration, but gain inspiration from Susanoo-no-Mikoto, the Kami of storms and the sea. Samurott would be bipedal with golden shell armour decorating it from the neck down. It’s shell helmet would be reconfigured into a more traditional samurai helmet and it’s swords would be surrounded in a whirlpool once unsheathed. This Samurott would be the protector of the Hisuian seas and it’s Pokémon. If Fishermen overfish in its territory or don’t share half of their catch with Samurott, it will destroy their boats with a violent storm without any hesitation.

Nice ideas. Decideye's typing looked strange at fire but it makes sense given the inspiration. I like the added lore of them becoming protectors of their domains.
