Every sucessful game has its hardcore and casual fanbases, and making the game harder at top level doesn't stop the casuals from enjoying it.
Look at CSGO, Valorant, Tf2, Dota, LoL and even fucking Pokemon.
You could just fuck around all day in PvE hanging out with your Pokemon and hunting shinies, or obsess over IVs EVs and be a compfag.
